SWELLENDAM GOLF CLUB

The Swellendam Golf Club is rated as one of the top nine-hole golf courses in South Africa and welcomes visitors, both local and from abroad. 

Well maintained and offering beautiful views, the par 72 golf course sits up against the magnificent Langeberg mountain range and lies above the very picturesque historic town of Swellendam, the fifth oldest town in South Africa.   

Swellendam is conveniently situated halfway between Cape Town and George, along the N2 in the Western Cape.

Originally designed and built by Ken Elkin in 1947, this course has stood the test of time, challenging golfers of all levels with its thoughtfully crafted layout and variety of difficulty. In 2024, as part of the Swellendam Golf Club’s Continuous Improvement project, the course underwent significant upgrades to enhance the playing experience while preserving its classic charm. These improvements reflect our commitment to providing a modern and memorable golfing experience for members and visitors alike.

Facilities include changing rooms, caddies, carts and a putting green. 

Our well stocked Bar offers a range of beverages for you to enjoy. Watch the sports on TV while enjoying a “cold one” after your game or pop up in the evening and enjoy incredible sunsets. 

The Golf Cafe offers breakfasts, brunches and lunches and is open to both members and non-members, on selected days.

Golf Cafe Open Hours: Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 7H30am to 18H00.  

The perfect “halfway house”… Golfers are welcome to place their orders, before teeing off or as they pass the clubhouse en route to the 7th hole. 

Available for functions and conferences throughout the week, evenings and on weekends.
